My kitchen counter
Thought you folks might get a chuckle and a groan at my own personal "urban sprawl." Here is the latest picture of my home kitchen counter in all its espressoed-out glory:
It's actually worse than it looks, because in back of the Silvia machine is a rotary pump, in back of the electronic control stack is a rat's nest of wiring, and in back of the Mazzer grinder is the Schectermatic Profiling Piston Pump. You see, it's a layered effect.
Believe it or not, besides looking simply mahvelous, this setup makes tasty espresso, too!

Awesome Andy, I'd love to know more about your Schectermatic?
What does all those controllers control, other than the PID rig?
And the obvious question, your wife must be one cool lady?

You're just not serious enough. Time to get rid of those wall cabinets because they're limiting your ability to install some big toys!!!!

Hi Geir, only one of those controllers is for the profiling pump. The others control three different heaters in the Silvia, a shot timer (like the LM Cronos), a grinder timer, and a flowmeter control (so I can set it like an automatic to pull a specified volume). Oh yes, my girlfriend is very cool about it, and she really likes the coffee! :-)

You're absolutely right, Jay. Once I take out those stupid cabinets I'll have the vertical space for big commercial machines and Robur grinders -- not to mention a 6' x 28" LCD video screen. :-)

Hmmm...on Sunday morning I often experiment with some new espresso technique and end up tasting many, many shots. I don't sing, but I sure get "Hammered."
