It's all done with magnets
OK, so I was reading the Herrington Catalog and came across an item called the Magnetic Wine Collar. You slip it over the neck of your wine bottle and then:
"Simply pouring a glass with the Collar in place has an immediate and salutary effect on wine molecules. The power of the Neodymium magnets both breaks down large astringent tannins, and accelerates aeration — much like decanting — resulting in a smoother, softer and more balanced taste."
Of course, if it's being sold in the Herrington Catalog, it's got to be for real, right, kids? :-0
Who will be the first to offer a Magnetic Press Pot Collar? A Magnetic Portafilter?
Terry????? :-)

It says that the magnets can make a $15 wine taste like a $50 wine. I'm getting one of these. That way I can just buy Starbucks Cafe Verona, and it will taste like Ethiopean Biloya after I pour it through.
I think I wanna try putting coffee through a Brita filter and see if it benefits from it in the same way that vodka does.
Matthew: well certainly, the magnets can make non-auction lot Esmeralda taste as good as the auction lot. :)
Nick: I'd try it first on an old Brita filter you're about to toss out.
I have been busy working on my smoke and mirrors effect for Baritas. This will have to wait until next year.
